If you a beginner winter recreationist, this is a great course for you as it will set you up to take your own winter trips after the course. Some of the skills that you will learn in this course include:
- How to select, use, and care for the necessary equipment on a snowshoeing day
- Plan, organize, equip, and safely implement a snowshoeing day
- How to stay warm in a winter environment
- Snow travel techniques
- Winter ecology and Leave No Trace practices.
The primary location for this trip is the Mt. Baker area. However, backcountry locations will vary depending on conditions. Plan on driving up to 2.5 hours from Seattle to the location. Potential locations are: Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park, North Cascades National Park, Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Mount Saint Helens National Park
A minimum of 4 people are required to run this trip. Should we not have the minimum number of participants, the amount paid will be refunded.
