With the tag “The Evergreen State” you might be surprised to know that East of the Cascade Mountains doesn’t have the evergreen trees that the Western part is known for. Instead it’s filled with sunny skies, rolling hills, sand dunes, and impressive rock formations.

Take a trip out to Eastern Washington to explore a different landscape, taken in breath taking desert scenery, bask in the sun, try out the local wineries, restaurants and so much more!

Pricing is based on minimum 2 paying adults, up to 2 kids under 12 go free. Max occupancy is 4 persons total. Each additional adult beyond 2 is $60 extra each.

Itinerary

Day 1: Town explorations, view points, fossil investigations

You’ve got a few fun places to stop along the way to your fall adventure. Stop in Ellensburg at a local brewpub and stroll through the town to see the old brick buildings and western motifs.

One Ellensburg home in particular is sure to be memorable—every inch of their yard is filled with artwork for the public to enjoy from the sideway.

Or, if you’d rather see the land surrounding the Columbia River, there’s a stop by the side of I-90 where you can climb to a fantastic overlook with views for miles. But if fossilized trees are more your thing, walk a 3-mile loop trail to see tree remnants encased in lava. You’ll get to see mineralized ginkgos, spruce, elm, walnut, and fir trees from another era. End your day with yummy food from a local restaurant.

Day 2: Desert hike or chill by the lakes or Palouse Falls

Day 3: Hike around basalt rock column or to rolling sand dunes, ending the day at a winery

On day 1, for 2 days

You will stay in a spectacular independent cabin / condo overlooking the Columbia River. You can enjoy the river and desert views from your private terrace / patio. You will have your own private bathroom and TV. The 6 person cabin has 1 King and 2 Queen beds and a living area. The 2 person cabin has a 1 King bed and a spacious living area with a large sofa. The 4 person Condo has a 1 King Bed and a Sofa Sleeper. The Condo also has a Kitchenette.
