Arrive at Leh airport. Your guiding company representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will then check-in for a complete day of rest and acclimatization, wherein welcome tea and coffee will be served. Post lunch you will visit Leh Market, Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. You will then stay overnight in Leh.

Arrival in Leh

After breakfast, you will drive downstream along the River Indus on Leh-Kargil Highway. Here you will start your tour with the Hall of Fame museum (constructed by the Indian army) near Leh, which is really worth the visit!

You will then proceed to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib at an altitude of 3,600 m/11,800 ft, around 22 km from Leh. The Gurudwara was constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Devji and is nestled deep in the Himalayas. 

After a drive of another 4 km, you will reach the Magnetic Hills which defies the law of gravity! As you move away from the Magnetic Hills, just before Nimmu Village, you will stop by the famous confluence of two rivers - the Indus River coming from Tibet (left) and the Zanskar River coming from Zanskar Valley (right). The Zanskar River is known for its famous Chadar Trek. 

Optional add-on: Rafting in the Zanskar River. You will then drive back to Leh via Lamayuru to visit the monastery for dinner and stay overnight at your hotel in Leh.

Exploring around Leh and Indus Valley

After breakfast, you will drive to Nubra Valley (known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh) via the Khardung La Pass. This road is considered to be the highest motorable road in the world. Enroute, you will admire the spectacular views of the never-ending snow-capped mountain ranges around the Khardung La Pass (18,390 feet). After spending some time at Khardung La, you will proceed to Nubra.

You will then check-in to your hotel for an overnight stay in Nubra.

Leh to Nubra Valley (125km / 5-6 Hrs)

On day four, you will drive to the Turtuk Valley. This region was recently opened to tourists. Here you will explore the beauty of the landscapes and the Balti culture. This village was captured and came under Indian territory in 1971 and it's the last border village in India. You will then drive back to Hunder for an overnight stay.

Turtuk Valley

You will start this day following the same route towards Leh until you reach Khalsar. From the Agyam bridge, you will take the left route which leads to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. The roads after Shyok are good but very steep. After Durbuk, you will drive towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Then you will drive further to Pangong Lake one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14,000ft, more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory and only one-third of it lies within India. Explore the lake and you might catch a glimpse of some rare wildlife. On this day you will stay overnight in Pangong.

Nubra to Pangong via Shyok (165km / 06 Hrs )

On day six, you will wake up early to enjoy the picturesque sunrise on Pangong lake. After breakfast, you will start driving back to Leh. On the way, you will take a short break at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea. On this day, you will stay overnight in Leh.

Pangong Lake to Leh (155km / 05 Hrs )

You will be provided with an early morning transfer to Leh Airport to board your flight back home. Your journey ends here with sweet memories of Ladakh.
