You will be staying at the 3-star Apsara Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu on double occupancy basis.

Mountain lodges or tea houses along the trek. Based on location, the tea houses vary on their quality and style on this trek. Each of them has a communal room downstairs with one or two-bed bedrooms above them. You have to share toilet facilities. Some have hot shower facilities, but some will have a standpipe. Tea houses use a burning stove in the main communal area. The other rooms are unheated.
At the lower altitudes, there is electricity to charge your electronics. As we go higher tea houses become more basic. Cooler temperatures drain battery life, ensure your batteries last a little longer by putting it inside pocket of your coat during the day or under your pillow at night.

Arrive in Kathmandu

An early morning pick-up from your hotel takes you to the Kathmandu domestic airport. An early Lukla flight takes you over the valleys and rivers alongside the Himalayan giants. Our porter receives us at Lukla. The bags are packed and after a brief rest, you start your trek. The trek begins through the Lukla gate and winds through forests and settlements while the Dudhkoshi River rumbles alongside. On reaching Phakding, Kongde Ri appears for the first time.

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

On this day, your trek continues along the majestic and torrential Dudh Koshi River towards the ancient trading hub of Namche Bazaar. Starting with the first view of Kongde Ri Peak and through some suspension bridges, the trail turns to the beautiful Benkar valley past beautiful waterfall, ancient gompa and lush forests decorating the surroundings. At Benkar, you will enjoy the view of Thamserku (6,623 meters) and the sacred Khumbila Peak (5,765 meters), before stopping briefly at Monjo, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park.
Moving ahead through Jorsale village, you will reach the Larja Dobhan, after crossing a high suspension bridge over the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi and then embark on the trail that goes steeply till Namche Bazaar.
En-route Namche, you will have the view of majestic peaks such as Everest (8,848 meters), Lhotse (8,516 meters) and Nuptse (7,879 meters) providing some relief during the ascent on the steep section.
Namche Bazaar is famous for being the buzzing Sherpa town, and perfect town for acclimatization and a hub for day hikes, having superb surrounding and scenery as well as rich cultural heritage.

Trek to Namche Bazaar

This day is set aside for rest and acclimatization hike. You will be going for a day hike to one of the nearby destinations such as:
- Everest View Hotel that provides the marvelous view of the Mount Everest, Lhotse, the beautiful Ama Dablam, and other nearby peaks.
- the twin villages of Khumjung and Khunde known for ancient monasteries with old age heritages.
- the school and hospital built by Edmund Hillary Foundation, that are the popular day hike destinations from Namche Bazaar.
You will undertake activities that will help you acclimatize faster for your trek ahead. In a town known for its colorful and lively nature, Namche has interesting shops, tasty cuisine, beautiful scenery as well as warm welcoming Sherpa people is the historic characteristics of this town.
You will visit the Sherpa cultural museum for detailed information on mountaineering in the region, flora and fauna, history and geography of the Himalayas, and the culture and traditions of the local inhabitants.

Rest day/ Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

Trekking to the higher altitudes, you will start with a short but steep climb out of the Namche Bazaar before trekking on a fairly leveled trail to reach the settlements of Kenjoma and Sanasa through the dense forest and other vegetation. Expect views of the mighty Everest and occasional exchange of greetings with fellow trekkers from other expeditions.
After the trail junction leading to the Gokyo valley and the Everest base camp, you head down to the riverbed of the mighty Dudh Koshi River and climb onto Phunke Tenga through several bridges and some hamlets. Marked by water driven prayer wheels, Phunke Tenga generally serves as the resting place before taking on the steep trail leading to Tengboche.
In Tengboche, you will visit the ancient monastery famous for celebration of Mani Rimdu festival, huge statue of Lord Buddha, intricate wall paintings and peaceful chants by the monks, the breathtaking scenery of the majestic mountains including Kwangde, Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Kantega and Thamserku Peaks where blooming rhododendron flower contrasts with its color.

Trek to Tengboche

After experiencing an amazing sunset and sunrise at Tengboche, today you will head for another interesting village of Dingboche. Through the forest, you descent from Tengboche to reach the village of Deboche that provides beautiful views of the lofty Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and others.
You head on down the trail with potential sightings of Musk Deer, Monal, and Blue Sheep and will cross the exciting suspension bridge over Imja River before reaching the settlement of Panchboche. The ancient stupa in the upper Pangboche, surrounded by trees, is worth a short visit. Ahead on the trail, there is alpine vegetation as you move through a landscape marked by scrub juniper and tundra until you reach Dingboche. 
The trekking section through Somare is rather flat, after this village, you cross a suspension bridge and follow the Imja River upstream as you part your way from the trail to Pheriche. Further ahead on the trail, you will reach Dingboche where the trail from Lobuche to the Island Peak climb meets.
Dingboche is a small village with stone walled houses, cultivation fields and the exquisite view of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam.

Trek to Dingboche

Today is another day of rest and acclimatization. You will need this day before reaching the ultimate destination of this trip. The day will be utilized by short hikes to higher altitudes up to 15,500ft to adapt yourself to higher altitudes. Hike to Nangkartshang Gompa provides the trekkers with breathtaking views, opportunity to get an insight into the rich heritage including intricate paintings of Thangka and Yeti scalp and hand.
Explore the valley formed by the mighty Imja River and the beautiful trail leading to the Island peak. A short hike to the hill behind Dingboche is another option which provides us with the view of a couple of six-thousand peaks. After exploring the breathtaking surrounding, capturing memories of the valley, you return for the overnight stay.

Rest day / Acclimatization day in Dingboche

This section of the trek begins with a gradual ascent from the settlement of Dingboche. You will come across cattle grazing areas and the beautiful mountain views.
Trekking past chortens, Mani walls, and stupas, you will move forward with a view of the beautiful Taboche Peak (6,495 meters), Ama Dablam Mountain and much more, glacial valleys and vast landscape before you climb onto the valley of Dughla, the last settlement before traveling further to the base camp. Ahead of this is the most poignant section of today’s trek.
An hour of trekking leads you to the height of the high ground overlooking the Khumbu valley, called Chukpo Lari, where monuments are built in remembrance of the mountaineers who lost their lives during their expedition to conquer Everest.
The trail then descends to the western side of the valley after walking over the glacial moraines of the majestic Khumbu Glacier.

Trek to Lobuche

This is the day you have been waiting for! On this day you will head into the Everest Base Camp, our destination for the day. Be aware of the risk of acute mountain sickness in this altitude and trek accordingly.
The trek from Lobuche begins early in the morning after breakfast. You will reach Gorakshep after trekking over the lateral moraines of the Khumbu Glacier past the Italian research centre, the rocky paths, cautiously avoiding the ice pinnacles and occasional crevasses in the Khumbu region.
The trail ascends over the Lobuche Pass and then reaches to the section sandwiched by large glaciers of Changri Nup and Khumbu. Shortly ahead is the much-awaited Gorakshep, our stopping point for lunch and the place of overnight stay for today.
After refreshments, you'll head for our ultimate destination, the Everest Base Camp, through the rocky path and on the New Moraine Route, you trek to the base camp. Flooded with the tents and camps of the climbers in the peak season, Everest Base Camp is the destination of a lifetime. The euphoric feeling of being there is beyond words and to be in the lap of the world’s tallest peak is something extraordinary. After capturing the memories of these extraordinary moments, you return back to the Gorakshep.

Trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp

Get ready for another beautiful day of trekking in the roof of the world as you trek to the Kala Patthar before making a return to the lower altitudes. Before the day breaks, you should be ready with your equipment and go for one of the most beautiful sunrises you have ever seen. In a straight trek from Gorakshep to this small brown hill dwarfed by the Himalayas, you will have the close up view of the mighty Everest.
Ideal for photographers, the sight of Himalayas including Mt. Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse and Changtse Peaks, the majestic Khumbu Glacier and the south-east face of Everest reach for the higher point of this black hill and capture as many memories as you can. After this extraordinary scenery, trek down to Gorakshep for lunch before heading down to Pheriche.
You will descent gradually from Gorakshep , in ups and downs and through the rocky terrain before taking exit from the vicinity of Everest at Dughla and walking straight to Pheriche. Through the damp valley floor covered with moss, from the alpine vegetation to the sub-alpine vegetation this trek is mostly a downhill walk. Stay overnight in Pheriche.
Gorakshep to Kala Patthar:

Trek to Kalapatthar and Trek back to Pheriche

You trek down to Phortse which starts with a drop-down to a river. The trail continues along the Imja River which drops further and presses against the side of the valley before you reach Somare. Up ahead a junction arrives and you'll take the path on our right, off the main trail before you reach the antiquated village of Pangboche. You will then ascend along the path above the river for about three hours to reach the village of Phortse. It is a beautiful, relatively remote village with a fresh cultural experience.

Trek to Phortse

You start with a descent over the Dudhkoshi River and continue along the uphill path to Tenga and then Dole. It is an enjoyable walk taking us through the alpine forests of Rhododendron, Pine and Juniper, waterfalls and stunning views of Cho Oyu, Kantega and Thamserku. You may also come across a few Himalayan goat, pheasant and others. After another two or three hours of climb from Dole, you reach Machhermo.

Trek to Machhermo

The trail is a steady climb along the ridge and the landscape puts on shades of brown and grey with scanty patches of Rhododendron shrubs. Cho Oyu, Taboche and other surrounding peaks grace the rocky trail which descends down to Phangnga. You will come across stone steps on the mountain edge and follow the trail beside the Ngozumba glacier moraine to arrive at the first lake. A bigger second lake welcomes us a little further after which you reach the village of Gokyo by the Dudhpokahari Lake or Gokyo Tsho. Nevertheless, the beauty of the place is sure to overwhelm us. The tall mountains surrounding the valley makes for a perfect backdrop to this already beautiful place. After some exploration around the lake, you have dinner and then rest for the night at our lodge in Gokyo.

Trek to Gokyo

You hike to the spectacular vantage point of Gokyo Ri quite early in the morning. The visualization of a sight of the sunrise over the Everest and other Himalayan giants keeps us going as  make the climb. The weather is mostly clear early in the morning. As you reach the summit, decorated with prayer flags, you stand surrounded by the Himalayan magnificence with Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Tabotse and others surrounding us. The lakes appear ever so beautiful opposite the Ngozumba glacier. You will trek down to our lodge in Gokyo. After some rest and some calories, you advent further along the lakeside all the way to the fourth lake – Thonak Tsho or even the fifth one – the Ngozumba Tsho. It all depends upon the time at hand and our energy levels. You will then make a return walk to stay overnight at Gokyo.

Day exploration hike to Gokyo Ri and back to Gokyo

You trek down to Dole today retracing the same trail that you hiked along a few days back. You will walk down a series of stone steps along the mountains to reach Machhermo from where you descend further to Dole.

Trek to Dole

The return from the vicinity of Everest continues as you depart from the beautiful Periche to the busy hub of Namche Bazaar. In this mostly downhill trek, you are now with the company of the torrential Dudh Koshi River. The trek will be rather gradual as you won’t want to put much strain on your shaky legs and ankles at this point.
In this busy trekking trail, you will encounter caravan of fellow trekkers, porters, locals and their pet animals like Yak used for transporting goods, make sure you give them way. Through the beautiful and dense forests, waterfalls, exciting and sometimes vertiginous suspension bridges fastened with prayer flags, flat and bumpy trails, gompas and monasteries, rural settlements and the culture and traditions practiced these are some of the major highlights of this section of the trek.
Water driven prayer wheels, viewpoints of the Himalayas, sights of rare wild animals and strenuous stone steps will take you to the destination of Namche Bazaar. Explore the busy streets of this ancient trade point and the current tourist hub as you take rest for today in this beautiful village. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.

This section of the trek is the last of such trekking in this adventurous journey that climaxed in the base camp of Everest. Descent on a steep trail out of the Namche Bazaar to descent at the riverbed of a confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River and after crossing over the high suspension bridge, you reach to Monjo where you exit the Sagarmatha National Park.
Through the beautiful Benkar and past waterfalls, several suspension bridges, unique, busy and interesting villages including the popular ones such as Phakding, Ghat, Nurning and Chheplung, Mani walls and prayer wheels, you trek up to the hill town of Namche Bazaar.
The beautiful and humongous Himalayas overlooking the entire trail acts as the motivation for trekkers; they find purpose of trekking in the sight of mountains. After reaching Luka, relax and explore the surrounding areas of hotel, if you are up for it.

Trek to Lukla

Today, you will return to the medieval capital city of Kathmandu after an adventurous stay in the Khumbu Everest region. Due to the weather-related disturbances during the day, you will take on the flight that starts early morning from Lukla. Over the vast landscape, lush hills, valleys, perennial rivers and with the sight of the glittering Himalayas, the flight of around 35 minutes bring you back to the civilization of Kathmandu valley.
You will be transferred to the hotel of your stay for the much-deserved rest after enduring a rather strenuous trek in the Khumbu region. Later in the evening, you may stroll around in the streets of Thamel and the surrounding areas.

Fly back to Kathmandu 

Your trek to the Everest Base Camp and Gokyo amidst the beautiful Khumbu region and to the vicinity of Mount Everest comes to an end today. You may go for some last minute souvenir shopping for your near and dear ones in the native place.
You will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) at least three hours prior to your flight schedule.
