Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Ubud

Arrive in the afternoon at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar and be greeted by the local travel guide for a private transfer to Ubud. This charming town, located in the centre of the island, is the artistic and cultural centre of Bali.

Check in to the hotel and freshen before heading out to learn about the spiritual significance of the Pura Dalem Agung at Sacred Monkey Forest. This temple is located at the highest point in the forest and is still used for ceremonies. The guide will also explain the architectural details of the Holy Bathing Temple and the Cremation Temple.

Afterwards, head into town and wander Ubud’s eclectic ‘artsy’ streets before enjoying a traditional ‘Rijstaffel’ dinner showcasing cuisine across the Indonesian archipelago. The Dutch-coined term Rijstaffel, which is now a local phrase, means ‘rice table’ and allows one to sample multiple Indonesian dishes in a single sitting.

After filling up on Indonesian specialties, head back to the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
