Overview

Go on a two-day winter camping adventure on the snowy slopes of Mt. Saint Helens. Snowshoe to camp at 4000' for spectacular views without any crowds. You'll also be teaching winter shelter building and the skills you need to stay comfortable and safe overnight in the backcountry. During downtime you'll have the option of snowshoeing to gain elevation and a panorama of the mountain and its pristine surroundings.

A minimum of two participants are required to run this trip.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hike to campsite and camp set up

You will meet your guide at a predetermined place and time. Then you will head out on a hike through the forest to get to your campsite. You will pass through the second growth forest and a beautiful waterfall before reaching your campsite.

Here your guide will teach you about winter shelter building and the skills you need to stay comfortable and safe overnight in the backcountry. After setting up camp, learn about outdoor meal options before calling it a day and resting up for a day of snowshoeing the next day.

Day 2: Snowshoeing and hike back
