FAQ 3: What is the best way to get to Cusco?

Most people will get to Cusco by air. Please remember that the Cusco airport is for domestic travel only, so you will likely fly through Lima.

FAQ 5: What is the best time to hike the Inca Trail?

The best time to hike the Inca Trail in Peru is during the dry season, which typically runs from May to September.

FAQ 6: Is the hike to Huayna Picchu included in the price?

No, you will have to arrange for that separately. If you get in touch with us beforehand, we can certainly arrange the same for you, based on availability.

FAQ 7: What is the fitness level required for this trek?

Accepted Answer

You do not need to be experienced hiker, but you need to be in good physical condition in order to be able it easier and more enjoyable. After booking we will provide a training guide so you can be ready for the trek.

FAQ 8: What is the cancellation policy after securing the Inca trail permit?

Accepted Answer

We pay our guiding partners the higher of 20% of the trip value or $200 as a deposit, after you book the trip, so that they secure the Inca trail permits.

Once the permits are secured, this amount is not refundable. Our standard cancellation policy will apply, to the remaining amount of the trip value.

Note that an admin fee of $100 remains non-refundable regardless of time of cancellation.

FAQ 9: When should I book my flight for Machu Picchu trek?

Please don’t book your flights till your permits have been secured. We’ll confirm back to you as soon as they have been secured, after which you can book your flights at any time.

FAQ 10: What is the recommended acclimatization time?

Accepted Answer

This trip only includes the trek itself. Due to the altitude of this trek, it is highly recommended that you spend at least 2 days around Cusco for acclimatization at higher altitudes. We can arrange hotels in Cusco and more day tours for you during your acclimatization period. Please get in touch to arrange this.

FAQ 11: What is the minimum age for this trek?

You must be at least 7 years old to hike the Inca Trail. We strongly recommend that the kids have strong hiking experience as it involves hiking in the high altitude for long distances.
