Overview

Join Mountains Sea & She for an incredible opportunity to climb Mount St. Helens. Mountains Sea and She - Outdoor Adventures is a safe, inclusive group space for women of all fitness and experience levels to come together to plan adventures, make new friends, seek advice, and share knowledge and experiences.  

 

You’ll be joined by a group of like-minded women as you scale one of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic peaks. You can make Mt. St. Helens your first volcano summit with a professional guide to learn the skills to climb with confidence. St. Helens is one of the lower and technically easier glaciated peaks in the Pacific Northwest but is still a strenuous climb as the starting elevation is relatively low.  

 

This is a single-day hike. This adventure is a full day event, and you must be in adequate physical condition to attempt the hike. Indigenous Peoples including the neighboring Puyallup tribe call Mount St. Helens "Louwala-Clough" or "Loowit," which means smoking mountain.  

 

This trip requires a minimum of 7 people to run.

Itinerary

Day 1: Mt. St. Helens Summit

You will meet your guide in the predetermined place and time. After having a quick gear check you will drive to the trail head and start your climb.  

The route covers 10 miles round trip with nearly 4,600 ft elevation gain, featuring steep sections that feel like climbing stairs.  

Your guides will expertly navigate changing snow conditions and set a suitable pace for summiting within the allotted time. No climbing experience is needed!  

Despite its challenges, summiting Mt. St. Helens is incredibly rewarding. Conquering this iconic volcano offers a sense of achievement that lasts a lifetime, complemented by breathtaking views of the crater and surrounding Cascade peaks like Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Rainier.
