On the second day, experience the awe-inspiring moment of trekking into the misty mountains to encounter one of the world’s rarest creatures—the mountain gorillas. Guided by expert park rangers, you'll trek through dense forests and spend a magical hour observing these majestic animals in their natural habitat. The adventure concludes with a scenic drive back to Kigali.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park/Kinigi

Tour representative will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, and then visit the Ellen Degeneres Campus of The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, an informative centre where you will learn about mountain gorillas and their conservation.

From the research centre, head over to the gorilla guardians’ village. This is the home of rehabilitated poachers. Here you will learn about their former way of life and how their reformation is helping them conserve the forest, and the gorillas.

Head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Kigali - Kinigi: 3 hours drive

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking and then transfer back to Kigali

Once the trip is confirmed, the following cancellation policy applies:

- Any cancellation done 61 days or more before the departure day gets a full refund minus a $1,600 non-refundable deposit needed to secure a Gorilla permit

- If you cancel 60 to 31 days before departure, you have the right to a 25% refund.

- If you cancel less than 30 days before departure, you will not receive any refund.
