Dolomite Peaks & Valleys: A Hike Through Puez-Odle Nature Park

Embark on an unforgettable hike through the Puez-Odle Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site rich in geological history. Starting with a scenic cable car ride (not included) to Passo Gardena (6,955 ft), you’ll follow the famed Alta Via 2, climbing steep, winding paths surrounded by dramatic peaks like the Pizzes da Cir. After 1½ to 2 hours of uphill hiking, reach Passo Cir (8,100 ft) and continue across varied terrain to Forcella de Ciampei (7,760 ft) and Forcella Crespeina. Take a well-deserved break at Rifugio Puez (8,120 ft), where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of towering cliffs and lush valleys. If you're up for more adventure, a one-hour detour to the summit of Sass Ciampac (8,770ft) rewards you with panoramic vistas of the Eastern Dolomites. After retracing your steps to Rifugio Puez, descend through the Edelweiss Valley on a rocky trail, eventually arriving in the town of Colfosco. From here, you can continue on to Corvara or take a bus to your next destination. This full-day trek spans approximately 6-7 hours, covering 9.6 miles (16 km) with 1,620 ft (494 m) of ascent and 4,057 ft (1,237 m) of descent, offering a true taste of the Dolomites’ stunning beauty.
