After you arrive at the Mexico City, you will be transferred to Zoapan. After lunch you will hop on a 4×4 for the drive to the Piedra Grande Hut. To assist in acclimatization, you will then take a short afternoon hike.

Arrival

Today after breakfast you will walk to the snowline to practice/review crampon use, self-arrest techniques and roped up glacier travel. You will have early dinner today and sleep early.

Snow skill lessons and practice

Today you will start at 3 am for the summit of “Pico de Oriz­a­ba” (6 to 8 hours). After spending some time at the summit, you will descend to camp, walk down to the Piedra Grande hut and drive one hour back to Zoapan for overnight stay.

Zoapan

After having the breakfast, you will return to Mexico City and fly back.
