Day 1: Columbia Gorge hiking and optional water sports

Go on short hikes, carefully picked by your experienced trip planners, depending on COVID opening, unstable ground due to 2017 fire and weekend crowding.

You can consider having a picnic lunch on your hike or at the Cascade Locks. You can then choose one of the below optional activities which can be pre-booked for an extra charge:

- Whitewater Rafting on Salmon River near Hood River

- Windsurfing rent or lessons, kayaking / if no wind SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding)

- Catamaran small boat sailing, sailing lessons

- Jet-Ski rentals

Alternatively, you could go on another hike in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic area in the afternoon, before driving to the foothills of majestic Mt. Hood, Oregon's largest, snow covered volcano with 11,200 feet elevation.

On day 1, for 2 days

The accommodation options for this trip include a yurt or a basic rustic camping style cabin in an RV village, where you bring your own bedding, food and gear including food prep gear.

The yurt sleeps up to 5 people and can include a twin over full bunk bed, cots and sleeping pads upon request, and portable camp stove upon request. You bring own bedding, food, cookware... the usual camping gear except for the tent.

The rustic cabins can sleep up to 6 people and come with the basic necessities for a comfortable camping getaway. They include a separate bedroom with bunk bed, double/twin bunk bed, and sleeper sofa in living room. There is no kitchen or bath, but bathhouses located nearby.
