Overview

The 26-mile multi-day through hike from the Sol Duc into the Hoh Rain Forest, features some of the most sought-after interior views and solitude within Olympic National Park. Starting from the Sol Duc Trailhead, our Olympic Hiking Co. Backcountry Guide will lead the group along the Sol Duc River, ascend into the Seven Lakes Basin, and descend back down into the Hoh River valley. This 4 day, 3 night backpacking trip will average about 6-7 miles of hiking per day with about 4,000 feet of elevation gain and dropping 5,000 feet into the Hoh Rain Forest.

Itinerary

Day 1: Meeting Point

Starting at 7:30 AM, the guide lead a 2-hour trip orientation and gear packing session at the meeting point in Port Angeles , you will receive the location once you book the trip. Once those backpacks are stuffed full, the group will be shuttled 1 hour 10 minutes from Port Angeles to the Sol Duc Trailhead to begin the trek from the Sol Duc into the Hoh. After a quick visit to Sol Duc Falls at mile 1, the group will hike 6 miles further along the Sol Duc River to reach our Sol Duc Park group campsite on the footsteps of the Seven Lakes Basin.

Hike: Sol Duc TH to Sol Duc Park (7.0 mi, +2,253 ft)

Meals: Lunch/Dinner

Day 2: Seven Lakes Basin

Day 3: Hoh River Valley

Day 4: File Mile Island to Hoh TH
