DAY 1

Arrival in Quito

Welcome to Quito, the largest and best-preserved colonial city in the Americas, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. Often referred to as the Cultural Capital of South America, Quito is uniquely situated on the equator in a valley at the foothills of the Pichincha volcano.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to spend the day exploring Quito's charming old town and its surrounding areas. In the evening, your trip leader will meet you in the hotel lobby at 6:00 PM for a welcome briefing. During this time, they will go over the details of your upcoming adventure and answer any questions you may have. The first day is designed to help you acclimate and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
