From Lago di Braies to Rifugio Biella

Your adventure begins with a scenic bus transfer from Dobbiaco to the enchanting Lago di Braies where you will meet your guide. Lago di Braies is a shimmering alpine lake renowned for its crystal-clear waters and dramatic mountain backdrop. A leisurely walk around the lake offers ample opportunities for capturing stunning photos and soaking in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. From the lake, the trail gently ascends through a peaceful forest, immersing you in nature before transitioning to a steeper climb toward the Forcella Sora Forno pass at 7,835 ft / 2,388 m. At the pass, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the jagged peaks and rolling valleys of the Dolomites. After taking in the views, a gradual descent brings you to Rifugio Biella, your first mountain refuge, nestled on a high plateau. Here, you’ll enjoy a cozy overnight stay surrounded by the raw, rugged beauty of the Alps, preparing for the incredible journey that lies ahead.
