Michael and Maree are the inspiring co-founders of Alzheimer Adventures, we specialize in organizing and hosting tailored travel experiences for couples and families affected by Alzheimer's disease. In 2018, Michael received the devastating diagnosis of Alzheimer's, but he refused to let it stop him from pursuing his passion for traveling and exploring the world. With some lifestyle changes, Michael has been able to stabilize and maintain his Alzheimer's condition without letting it diminish his personality and love for adventure. Having traveled extensively before his diagnosis, Michael was determined to continue exploring the world even with Alzheimer's. Together with his partner caregiver Maree, they now share their love for travel and host trips with couples in similar positions. Their goal is to provide couples and their families with the opportunity to enjoy annual holidays together, share experiences, make memories and make new connections that create lasting supportive friendships. Through their partnership with Adventure Tripr, Michael and Maree are able to host small group adventure tours throughout the year to various countries and destinations in the world. This allows couples and families with mild to moderate Alzheimer's to enjoy hassle-free vacations with all their special needs taken care of. Thanks to Michael and Maree's determination and dedication, they have made it possible for others affected by this disease to continue experiencing the joys of vacations and weekend trips exploring our beautiful world while staying connected to nature and enjoying an active lifestyle. Their story serves as a reminder that with determination and family support, one can still live a fulfilling life despite challenges such as Alzheimer's disease.
