Overview

The Alta Via 1 is a fantastic trek, highlighted by breathtaking views, rustic and lively mountain refuges, a sense of excitement of what lies around the next bend or the next pass, and the satisfaction of traveling by foot through this beautiful and remote area. This linear trip, traveling north to south through the Italian Alps, begins in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Reserve and heads south through different mountain groups. This astoundingly rewarding trek visits the Fanes area, Lagazuoi and many other Cortina mountains, Pelmo, Civetta, Moiazza and the Dolomiti Bellunesi.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Venice

Arrive in Venice . You will be transferred to your hotel. Cortina d’Ampezzo is a charming alpine resort town surrounded by stunning peaks. Host to the 1956 Winter Olympics, Cortina enjoys a reputation for great skiing in winter, and in the summer attracts hikers and climbers who challenge the rocky faces of the nearby mountains. This chic Alpine town also caters to the high society crowd, offering many year-round social activities, shopping, and fine dining. You can enjoy the rest of the day on your own. You will meet with your Guide tomorrow morning.

Day 4: Cime di Fanis & Lagazuoi Massif

Day 5: Cinque Torri

Day 6: Pelmo & Civetta Massifs

60 to 90 days prior to departure: 100% loss of deposit;

.46 to 59 days prior to departure: 50% loss of trip cost + 50% transfer to a future trip (within two calendar years);

45 days or less prior to departure: 100% loss of full amount of trip cost. These charges are a percentage of the total cost of the booking. The days indicated are from the trip departure date.
