Surrounded by majestic mountains, Val Gardena is an ideal base for hikers. With peaks such as Seceda, Pitschberg, and Resciesa dominating the horizon, the town is a paradise for nature lovers. Designed for sure-footed hikers, you’ll travel across rocky landscapes and rolling pastures, experiencing the variety of terrain of the Puez Odle / Geisler Natural Park.

Highlights:

- Base yourself in Val Gardena, a slice of heaven on earth known for its stunning scenery & exquisite wooden sculptures.

- Hike through Puez-Odle Natural Park across lunar landscapes, with vistas created by former sea beds eroded through time.

- Hike from hut to hut – mountain rifugios that seem to be placed at the perfect interval, appearing right when you are ready for an espresso or plate of speck!

- Hike a section of the Alta Via 2, one of the eight Dolomite “High Routes” and one of the most beautiful, diverse, and challenging trails in the Dolomites

- Short on time? This is the perfect quick way to experience the Dolomites on foot, exploring its vast variety of terrain!

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Venice

You will arrive in Venice. Transfer from airport to Ortisei is included. Arrive in Ortisei / Urtijëi (1,236m / 4,055ft) at leisure and check into your hotel. Ortisei is the main village of Val Gardena / Gröden, set in a beautiful valley between the slopes of the Rasciesa High Plateau / Hochalm Raschötz and the steep, wooded slopes of the famous Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm, the largest plateau in Europe. Depending on when you arrive, you may have time for a hike or to explore the lively pedestrian zone at the center of the town.

Day 4: Hike the Dolorama Trail

Day 5: Rodenecker - Lüsner Alm

Cancellation Policy

91+ more days prior to departure: 20% loss of trip cost & 10% transfer to a future trip (within two calendar years);

60 to 90 days prior to departure: 100% loss of deposit;

.46 to 59 days prior to departure: 50% loss of trip cost + 50% transfer to a future trip (within two calendar years);

45 days or less prior to departure: 100% loss of full amount of trip cost. These charges are a percentage of the total cost of the booking. The days indicated are from the trip departure date.
