Overview

The Everest Three Passes Trek is one of the highest levels of trekking adventures in the Everest Region. Get ready to push your limits in this circuit trek that demands a high level of fitness and acclimatization. While you traverse the high passes around Everest, namely the Renjo La (5,360m), Cho La (5,420m) and Kongma La (5,535m), you also set foot on the Everest Base Camp. Furthermore, the best views of the Himalayas are reserved for you at the summit of the trekking peaks – Gokyo Ri (5,360m), Kalapatthar (5,545m) and Chukkung Ri (5,550m). It is the ultimate Everest adventure that takes the classic Everest Base Camp Trek to a whole new level.

This demanding trek rewards you with the best sights of the Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku and other lesser-known mountains that are sure to evoke admiration – Kusum Kanguru, Pumori, Cholatse, Khantega, Lobuche, to name a few. A major section of this trek is less frequented and lets you be in pure harmony with a different face of nature in the world's natural heritage site of the Sagarmatha National Park. Additionally, you get a contrast of two Sherpa worlds at Gokyo and Namche.

Dev was born in 1983 in Solukhumbu, the foothills of Everest. Familiar with the hills and mountains since his early childhood, he has spent 13 glorious years as a professional guide. The idea of preservation and promotion of the natural and cultural heritage of Nepal while sharing the beauty with the world is what inspired him to become a trekking guide. He has acquired an intermediate degree and speaks English and Hindi quite well. He has received training in first-aid, map reading, navigation, foreign culture and others enabling him better service our clients. Adventurous by nature, he has a fascination for foreign culture and great admiration for nature. He’s quite an entertainer on trek and loves to share the gifts of culture, tradition and nature with our guests. He has extensively traveled Nepal and captured beautiful memories with his skillful photography. A warm person, he has high regards for moral principles. As interesting as his story-telling, he’s an entertaining singer and dancer.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1400m / 4593ft)

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. Later, a brief meeting at the hotel is scheduled to discuss the arrangements for your trek and the plan for the next day.

Meals on this day are not included.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2860m / 9383ft), 30min and then trek to Phakding (2610m / 8563ft), 3 to 4 hours

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m / 11286ft), 5 to 6 hours

Day 4: Acclimatization and Exploration Day at Namche Bazaar with a short hike

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche (3870m / 12697ft), 4 to 5 hours

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m / 14469), 5 to 6 hours

Day 7: Acclimatization day at Dingboche (4410m / 14469ft) with a short hike

Day 8: Trek to Chhukung (4730m / 15518ft), 5 to 6 hours

Day 9: Trek from Chhukung to Lobuche (4,910m) via Kongma La pass (5,535m), 6 to7 hours

Day 10: Trek to Gorakshep (5164m / 16942ft) to EBC (5364m / 17598ft) and back to Gorakshep, 6 to 7 hours

Day 11: Trek to Kalapatthar (5,550 m) and then to Dzongla (4,830m), 7 to 8 hours

Day 12: Trek to Gokyo (4790m / 15715ft) via Cho La Pass (5420m / 17808ft) and Thangnak, 7 to 8 hours

Day 13: Acclimatization at Gokyo (4790m / 15715ft), Explore up to the 5th lake and Gokyo Ri (5360m / 17585ft)

Day 14: Trek from Gokyo to Marlung (4210m / 13812ft) via Renjo La Pass (5360m / 17585ft), 7 to 8 hours

Day 15: Trek from Marlung to Namche Bazaar (3440m / 11286ft), 5 to 6 hours

Day 16: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2860m / 9383ft), 6 to 7 hours

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400m / 4593ft)

Day 18: Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley

Day 19: Final Departure from Kathmandu
