DAY 1

Reykjavík → Landmannalaugar → Hrafntinnusker

The trek begins at the BSÍ bus terminal in Reykjavík at 06:45, where you meet your guide and group. At 07:00, you board the highland bus to Landmannalaugar, with a stop in Hella after about 1 hour to hand over luggage and food boxes to the transport service. From there, the road continues into the highlands until you reach Landmannalaugar, where you have lunch, use the facilities, and prepare to begin the hike. The route covers 12 km (7.5 miles), climbing steadily up into colorful rhyolite mountains until you reach Hrafntinnusker hut in the late afternoon.

Phenomenal local guide

Our group just finished a trip to Iceland. AdventureTripr set us up with a phenomenal local guide. While we had an itinerary, our guide Rakel made the trip special with little detours to places she loved that were off the beaten path.
