Highlights

Join Outside Chronicles and take on the ultimate adventure of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro via the renowned Lemosho Route, one of the most scenic and well-paced trails on the mountain. Over the course of 8 days, you’ll journey through diverse ecosystems, from lush rainforest to alpine desert; while gradually acclimatizing to the altitude, increasing your chances of reaching the summit.

Starting on Kilimanjaro’s quieter western side, this route offers a more remote and immersive experience, eventually joining the Machame trail while still maintaining a sense of space and serenity. Along the way, you’ll encounter unique landscapes, including the striking giant groundsels found only on this mountain, and take in sweeping views that make every step unforgettable.

Designed for both adventure and success, the Lemosho Route is ideal for those seeking a balanced, rewarding, and visually stunning climb to Africa’s highest peak.

Highlights:

- Higher summit success rate thanks to gradual acclimatization over 8 days.

- Incredible landscape diversity, from rainforest to alpine desert.

- Less crowded start with a more remote and scenic approach to the mountain.

- Iconic sections including Shira Plateau and Barranco Wall.
