The Sandakphu and Phalut trek is one of the most iconic journeys in the Eastern Himalayas, following the spectacular ridge of Singalila National Park. Starting from Bagdogra Airport, the route climbs through rhododendron forests and traditional Himalayan villages to the famous summit of Sandakphu. From here, trekkers enjoy one of the rare viewpoints where four of the world’s tallest peaks. Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga, can be seen together. The trail continues along scenic ridgelines to Phalut, offering breathtaking Himalayan landscapes. The journey ends with a descent through forested valleys and picturesque villages before reaching Darjeeling.

Arrival & Scenic Drive from Bagdogra to Dhotrey

Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will meet your trekking team and begin a scenic drive through tea gardens, forested hills, and mountain roads toward Dhotrey, a quiet Himalayan village that serves as the starting point of the Singalila trek.

The route climbs gradually through the foothills of the Eastern Himalaya, offering early views of deep valleys and pine forests. As you ascend, the landscape changes into alpine terrain and cool mountain air. After arrival, check into your lodge or guesthouse, meet your guide, and prepare for the trek beginning the next day.
