Overview

Mt. Kailash, situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, wholly within Tibet is popularly known as the heavenly abode of Lord Shiva and is popular for its majestic beauty and Mansarovar.

Mansarovar, an inseparable part of Kailash is a large freshwater lake situated in Tibet (China) and is a pilgrimage holding religious importance for Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists.

- Visit the remains of the Guge Kingdom, once a powerful and prosperous civilization that mysteriously disappeared in the 17th century.

- Witness the contrast between the holy Lake Manasarovar (freshwater lake with a turquoise color) and the ghostly Lake Rakshastal (saltwater lake with a dark hue and no signs of life), separated by a narrow isthmus.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and briefing (1,350m/4,429ft)

You’ll be received at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to the hotel for your stay after you complete the necessary formalities at the customs.

Later in the evening you will be introduced to your trek leader, and he will brief you about the actual trip plan, roadmaps and check your gear making sure you have everything required. You will be joining with your guide and group for the welcome dinner.

Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Full day in Kathmandu/Briefing

Day 4: Kathmandu & Bhaktapur Tour

Day 5: Free day (in case permit gets delayed)

Day 6: Drive Kathmandu to Kyrung (2,700m/8,900ft)

Day 7: Kyirong rest day for acclimatization.

Day 8: Kyrung to Saga (4,450m/14,600ft) drive

Day 9: Saga (4,450m/14,600ft) to Paryang (4,558m/14,954ft) to Mansarovar (4,600m/15,092ft) drive

Day 10: Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk (4790m - 22km)

Day 11: Drive to Tarboche 12km, then trek to Diraphuk (4800m) / 12km / 6 hrs

Day 12: Trek Dirapuk to Zuthul Puk (4,760m/15,617ft) and over Dormo-la pass (5,670m/18,602ft)

Day 13: End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Saga

Day 14: Saga to Timure/Syaburbensi 5-6 hours

Day 15: Timure/Syaburbensi to Kathmandu (1300m) Drive / 6 hours
