Cusco – Challacancha – Humantay Lake
Transfers
Hotel, and sightseeing transfers are included throughout the trip, along with transportation to the Salkantay Trail, a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, and a one-way train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (subject to availability). During the trek, camping equipment and up to 5 kg (11 lb) of personal luggage are transported by cargo mules and vehicle, allowing you to hike with only a daypack.
Accommodation
Lodging at various hotels, camps, or other types of accommodation during the trip.
Admission fees
All required entrance fees are included, including the Cusco Tourist Ticket, entry to Cusco Cathedral and Qorikancha, Humantay Lake and the Salkantay Trek, and Machu Picchu. The package includes Circuit 2 at Machu Picchu (subject to availability), with Circuit 3-B or Circuit 1-B arranged if required.

Some meals
Selected meals provided as part of the tour package, which may include breakfast, lunch, or dinner on certain days, as specified in the itinerary. Plus, filtered water, wake up tea, and snacks on the trail.
One Duffel Bag
For the trek, you’ll receive a duffel bag to pack your personal belongings, with a maximum weight limit of 5 kg (11 lb), which will be carried by our staff.
Sleeping Bag
Our sleeping bags are durable and designed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as -18°C (0°F). They feature a mummy shape and include a sleeping liner for added warmth. Each bag is thoroughly cleaned and carefully maintained after every use.
Trekking Poles
Trekking poles enhance stability on hard terrain while minimizing impact on joints.
Medical Kit or First AID Kit
All Salkantay Trekking guides have specialized first aid training and attend mandatory training sessions every February. Your guide will always carry a first aid kit and oxygen to handle basic emergencies (altitude sickness, diarrhea, cuts, scrapes, etc.). If needed, we will evacuate you from the trail as quickly as possible and ensure you arrive at a clinic for treatment.

Costs for any alcoholic drinks consumed during the trip.

International flights
Flights are not included. We’ll provide pricing and flight details once confirmed in October 2026.
Domestic flights
Flights within the country that are necessary to reach different destinations on the itinerary.

Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu & Huchuy Picchu Mountain.
Optional Activities
Optional activities include a horseback ride from Soraypampa to Humantay Lake on Day 3, a horseback ride toward Salkantay Pass on Day 4, and the train from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes on Day 6. These activities are not included and are available at an additional cost.
Personal Hiking Clothes and Gear
Personal hiking clothing and trekking gear are not included. A detailed packing list will be provided before departure.
Additional costs or delays beyond control
Landslides, bad weather conditions, itinerary modifications due to a safety concern, illness, pandemic, government policy changes, political instability, strikes, acts of God, etc.

We have hikes of different levels from beginner right through advanced. Don't see something you like? Volunteer to host your own hike - We strive to cover all across the GTA and always looking for quality hike leaders.
