Hiking and Glacier Walk Adventure with She Jumps

duration: 3 days

difficulty: Moderate

group size: 5

experience: Beginner

Overview

Few people have the opportunity to see a glacier in their lifetime, let alone walk on one. You don't have to venture as far out as Iceland or Patagonia or even Alaska to walk on a Glacier when you live in the second most glaciated state in the US.

Join us on a challenging and beautiful hike to the Coleman Glacier of Mt. Baker, where wildflower riddled hillsides frame some of the most beautiful alpine scenery in the country. Our professional mountain guides introduce you to alpine ecology and glaciology as you hike through old growth forest and cross crystal-clear creeks. Once at the toe of the glacier your guide will teach you how to put-on crampons and walk on the stunning glacier ice. See huge crevasses, meltwater holes, blue pools, and towering seracs. Watch marmots and pikas, and count dozens of species of wildflowers and birds. Make sure to bring a good camera for this incredible experience. The hike is 5 miles round-trip and involves 2000 ft. of elevation gain. Crampon compatible mountain boots and crampon rental are included in the cost of this trip

Information provided during this experience: Forest ecology of the Pacific Northwest

Glaciology, Identification of plants and animals, Hazards in an alpine environment, How to put-on crampons, How to walk on glacier ice.

The listed price of $600 per person is for a group size of 5 people.

I love exploring new places...

Tricia

I love exploring new places, so I jumped at the opportunity to get out on Mt. Baker with Preeti Suri and AdventureTripr. This trip exceeded my expectations. From the prompt and detailed communication before the trip, the COVID health precautions that made me feel safe venturing out during this time, and the security of a guided hike out onto the Coleman Glacier, I had an amazing experience. I made new friends, re-ignited my passion for climbing, and committed to a Mt. Baker summit climb in 2021 with a new friend I met on the hike. Preeti's passion for the outdoors is inspiring and was clearly seen in all aspects of this trip. I will definitely go on future adventures with AdventureTripr.

I thoroughly enjoyed my adventure!

Mahek

I thoroughly enjoyed my adventure! It was a fantastic glacier hike (which I personally feel like I could not have done by myself and without the coordination of guides). I felt super safe the entire time and there was precautions taken for COVID. Preeti is also amazing and knows the ins and outs herself!
