Discover the diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes of Tanzania on this 2-day safari adventure covering Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Depart from Moshi and explore Tarangire, renowned for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees and the Tarangire River, an important water source during the dry season. Enjoy an exciting wildlife game drive with opportunities to spot elephants, zebras, wildebeest and Cape buffalo, followed by a picnic lunch inside the park. Continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. On Day 2, descend approximately 610 metres (2,000 feet) into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape known for its rich wildlife and remarkable natural ecosystem. After a crater game drive and packed lunch, ascend around 2:30 PM and travel via Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport, concluding your Tanzania safari experience.

DAY 1

Moshi – Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Depart from Moshi for a scenic road transfer to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes approximately 3.5–4 hours. Enjoy the morning African sunshine as you travel away from the city, passing lush landscapes and local Maasai communities grazing their cattle.

Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, begin your game drive exploring the park's remarkable wildlife and landscapes. Located in Tanzania's Manyara Region, Tarangire is famous for its high density of elephants and impressive baobab trees. During the June to November dry season, visitors may encounter large herds of zebras, wildebeest and Cape buffalo.

The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which serves as the primary source of fresh water for wildlife in the ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire ecosystem is characterised by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During dry periods, thousands of animals gather inside the park from surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during your safari. Later, depart Tarangire National Park and continue towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The transfer from Tarangire National Park to Karatu takes approximately 2 hours.
