Climb Mt. Hood, the tallest peak in Oregon and the world’s second most climbed mountain, with experienced guides. Mt. Hood challenges aspiring mountaineers to push their physical limits and realize their ambitions to climb a stunning glaciated peak.
Prior to your climb, on a pre-determined date, you will do a snowskills course with guides who will teach you the skills necessary for your climb covering skills such as selecting clothing and equipment for a snow climb, how to walk in balance with an ice axe, traversing a slope, kicking steps, self arrest techniques, plunge stepping, glissading, assessing snow conditions and crampon use.
On your summit day, you will climb above the clouds and witness the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest’s volcanoes with views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Saint Helens, and even Mt. Rainier.
Climbers should be ready for a strenuous, full day of physical and mental challenges on the mountain’s classic South Side route. Grit, determination, and sound decision-making can all come together with the awe-inspiring summit of Oregon’s biggest volcano.
