Overview

On this climb you will summit Mount Hood, the tallest peak in Oregon and the world’s second most climbed mountain! This snowy peak that towers above Oregon, inspiring climbers and non-climbers alike. Its glaciated flanks are known for notoriously stormy conditions. This makes it both difficult and beautiful to ascend.  

Professional guides will help you get to the summit of Mt. Hood, with a little education, training, and encouragement along the way. Even before your attempt your climb you will train with volunteers from the 'Asha for Education' charitable organization and undergo a snow skills course to be able to complete the training hikes in snow.  

Cancellation Policy: Since this is a fundraiser climb run for Asha, the cancellation policy on this trip varies from our standard cancellation policy. Please refer to FAQs 7 & 8 below.  

Please note that we need at least 3 people to run this trip.

Itinerary

Day 1: Meet the guide, gear check

In the morning, you'll meet at the guiding company office to go over gear and logistics. Then you'll spend the morning in your snow skills training course. In training, you’ll cover footwork, ice axe usage, rope systems and self arrest. This day is about 4 hours long and gives you an opportunity to practice all the technical skills that you’ll use during your climb.
