You'll start your day by heading to a family-owned bike shop to pick up your rental and map! It will include a detailed route, with information on all the best stops. Then, take a break for lunch at a top-rated restaurant, before heading out for a short afternoon hike through protected marshes.

Wanderfest: A Day of Self-Guided Adventures in New Orleans

DAY 1

Hiking, biking, and eating!

In this one-day itinerary, you'll start your day by biking around New Orleans. Choose between the 'Creole & Crescent' or 'Garden District' tours. The first will take you through the original settlement of New Orleans and its first neighborhoods, also known as Faubourgs. Or choose to ride through old Antebellum New Orleans, where the wealthy Americans showed off their immense wealth via their opulent mansions and expansive gardens. It costs $30 for a four hour bike rental.

After your bike ride, choose from our selection of the best restaurants in New Orleans for lunch! Then, we'll provide you with some of the best hikes in the area. Spend your afternoon exploring the wetlands and looking for wildlife, like alligators!
