On this trek you will climb the tallest peak in the African continent, Mt. Kilimanjaro, via the Machame route. Also known as the Whiskey route, Machame was the first camping route established to hike Mount Kilimanjaro.
The region of Machame was initially referred to as the Great African Giant. Its steep hills and ever-changing climate will challenge the most skilled and adventurous hiking enthusiasts. Nevertheless, the mesmerizing views and diverse ecosystems as you ascend the Giant will enthrall you to the wonders of the region.
The route starts with a short drive from Moshi town to Machame gate before the hike starts. The route begins from the south, heads to west and then later traverses to underneath Kilimanjaro’s southern ice field before you summit from south-east of the mountain.
Please note that we need at least 4 people to run this group trip.

Day 1
You will be staying in a comfortable 3* hotel in Arusha, in a standard room on double occupancy basis
Day 2 - 9
You will be camping on the mountain on these days. Your camping accommodation, as provided by the guiding company, will include:
You will be provided Mountain Hardwear tents. These “3-man” tents are provided for every two people, depending on the composition of the group. We also provide sleeping pads, but many people prefer to bring an additional sleeping pad of their own for added comfort. On your hike, the porters will carry the tents, and all your gear and go ahead of you. When you reach your camp in the afternoon your tent will be set up and ready for you
You will be provided a chemical “sit-down” toilet in a small private tent for our own campsite. The porters will bring this along to each new campsite, as well. Showers are not available on the mountain, but a bowl of hot water is provided for each person every morning and when you arrive in camp each afternoon.
Before every meal we provide soap and hot water, for washing your hands.
Day 8
You will be staying in a comfortable 3-star hotel in Arusha, in a standard room on double occupancy basis

An Unforgettable and Seamless Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb
It is rare that 14 (mostly) strangers can come together, bond quickly and cohesively and do something amazing like summit Mt. Kilimanjaro together. Yet, when you get to work with terrific organizations like AdventureTripr, things like this become possible. While I had to do a significant amount of personal preparation and training, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a “hitch-less” travel experience.
