9 Most Scenic Sections of the Tour du Mont Blanc

1. Aiguille de Bionnassay

Les Houches to Les Contamines, this section of the trail offers stunning views of the Mont Blanc massif and the Aiguille de Bionnassay. Hikers will also pass through the beautiful forests and meadows of the Contamines-Montjoie Nature Reserve.

2. Les Chapieux Valley

When going from Col de la Croix du Bonhomme to Refuge des Mottets you will go across the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme, and then the trail winds through the scenic Les Chapieux valley, where hikers can spot a variety of alpine wildlife.

3. Rifugio Bonatti

Courmayeur to Rifugio Bonatti takes hikers through the Val Ferret, a beautiful valley with stunning views of the Italian side of the Mont Blanc massif. Hikers will also pass through charming alpine villages and pastures and can enjoy a dip in the Val Ferret's refreshing glacial streams.

4. Col de la Seigne

Col de la Seigne is located at the border between France and Italy, offering incredible views of both countries. From the summit, hikers can see the rugged peaks of the Mont Blanc massif, as well as the rolling hills and valleys of the Italian countryside.

Secondly, the Col de la Seigne is surrounded by beautiful alpine scenery, including pristine glaciers, crystal-clear streams, and fragrant wildflowers. The trail leading up to the summit is lined with lush green meadows and alpine forests, providing hikers with a peaceful and serene environment.

5. Col du Bonhomme

The views are especially breathtaking from the top of the Col du Bonhomme, which is over 2,400 meters high and offers a bird's eye view of the surrounding landscape.

Secondly, Col du Bonhomme is a challenging section of the Tour du Mont Blanc, with a steep and rocky ascent that tests the endurance and strength of hikers. 6. Trient

Champex-Lac to Col de la Forclaz offers panoramic views of the Rhone Valley and the Swiss Alps. Stopping at the quaint Swiss hamlet of Trient is very popular.

7. Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve

Col de Balme to La Flégère, takes hikers across the border between France and Switzerland, from here you will be able to see both the very famous Chamonix valley and the Mont Blanc massif. Hikers will also pass through the beautiful Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve, home to various alpine flora and fauna.

8/9. La Fouly and Champex

The entire section of La Fouly to Champex-Lac is a truly peaceful finish to your hike! You will go through the scenic Val Ferret, from where you can see views of the Mont Blanc massif and the Swiss Alps! It is also very enjoyable to hike through alpine villages in the Swiss countryside.
