Overview

Ecuador is home to a treasure of unique climates with some of the most biodiversity and spectacular geography on the planet. On this multisport adventure trip, you will witness the spectacular Avenue of Volcanoes while hiking and biking on the slopes of the Andes. Explore the waterfall canyons and raft along the Jatunyacu River whose waters flow into the mighty Amazon River. Trek the rim of the Cuicocha Crater Lake and spend an evening relaxing in the volcanic hot springs of Papallacta.

Carl Swedberg has his degree in Exercise Science from Western Washington University and has been working at one of the country’s most profound health clubs (PRO Sports Club in Bellevue, WA) for the past 22 years. He holds six national certifications in personal training, special populations, health coaching, and athletic performance from NSCA, ACSM, and ACE. Additionally, Carl has been a content provider/evaluator for ACE’s Medical Exercise Specialist Certification exam. Carl has been in a leadership role for most of his tenure at PRO Club, the last 15 years in a full-time manager/director role overseeing a team of 100+ personal trainers while still doing a few hours of training a week and teaching group fitness class called Mountain Conditioning preparing people for alpine adventures. Carl enjoys mountaineering, trail running, skiing and is always thinking about the next challenge.

Itinerary

Day 1: Quito Arrival day

Depending on arrival time, you can spend your day exploring the old town of Quito and the surrounding area. Your guide can help you to organize a day trip (please request in advance). In the evening, one of your trip leaders will meet you at the hotel’s lobby for a welcome briefing at 18:00 hours. At this time, the guides will discuss the details and answer all your questions you may have regarding the adventure.
