Upon arrival at Liberia, your private transportation will be ready to take you to Rincon de la Vieja, situated northwest of Guanacaste, near Liberia. This destination offers fantastic activities like hiking and horseback riding, with numerous waterfalls such as the Oropendola and La Victoria, which flow into the Colorado River. Within the National Park's Pailas and Santa Maria areas, you'll find trails leading to waterfalls, fumaroles, and mud pits. Take the remainder of the afternoon to immerse yourself in exploring the area.

Arrive in Liberia and transfer to Rincon de la Vieja

After breakfast, you'll embark on a guided walk with a naturalist through the 3.5-km Las Pailas circular path, winding through the tropical dry forest. Along the way, you'll be treated to the best views of the volcano, witness volcanic activity, marvel at incredible nature, and have the opportunity for wildlife sightings. With over 300 species of birds and a variety of animals such as bats, armadillos, coatis, iguanas, as well as white-faced, howler, and spider monkeys, there's plenty to discover. The Las Pailas sector offers a spectacular showcase of the power of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, the largest and most active volcano in Guanacaste. From fumaroles and geysers to bubbling mud pots, this unique landscape provides an experience unmatched by any other volcano in Costa Rica.

This morning, you'll be transferred to Tamarindo, situated on the Pacific coast in Guanacaste. In the heart of town, you'll find a plethora of restaurants and bars to choose from. The town boasts a vibrant nightlife scene, and surfing is one of the most popular activities in the area.
Nearby, you'll discover stunning beaches like Langosta Beach, known for its pristine white sands. Marino Las Baulas National Park is a protected area that provides a sanctuary for the leatherback sea turtle population, allowing them to nest without fear of harm. Additionally, the park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, with over 150 species of birds waiting to be spotted.

Spend your morning recharging, as you'll set sail on a catamaran adventure from Tamarindo Beach in the afternoon. Cruise serenely along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast, taking in the sights of Guanacaste's exotic bays, pristine beaches, and lush jungles. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, or even a whale!
